No account is required for basic usage. Free users can process up to 3 files per day. Creating a free account lets you track your conversion history, while upgrading to Pro unlocks unlimited conversions, larger file sizes, and advanced features.

FreePDF supports a wide range of formats: PDF, Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), PowerPoint (PPTX), JPG, PNG, HTML, and plain text. You can convert between any of these formats and PDF.

Yes. All files are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Your files are processed automatically by our servers — no human ever accesses them. All uploaded and converted files are automatically deleted within 24 hours.

Free users can upload files up to 100 MB. Pro users enjoy an increased limit of up to 1 GB per file, which is ideal for large documents, high-resolution images, and batch processing.

Files are stored temporarily for download purposes only. Free user files are deleted after 30 minutes, and Pro user files after 24 hours. We do not archive, index, or use your files for any other purpose.

Never. FreePDF operates on a zero-knowledge principle. Your files are processed by automated systems only. We do not read, analyze, mine, or use your document contents for training, advertising, or any other purpose.

Our conversion engine uses industry-standard libraries (LibreOffice, Chromium, and custom parsers) to ensure high-fidelity results. When you convert a PDF to Word, for example, the layout, fonts, images, and tables are preserved as closely as possible.

Go to the Merge PDF tool, upload all the PDF files you want to combine, arrange them in your preferred order by dragging, and click Merge. The combined PDF will be ready for download instantly.

Compression rates depend on the content of your PDF. Documents with many images typically see 50–80% size reduction. Text-heavy PDFs may see 10–30% reduction. You can choose between quality presets to balance file size and visual quality.

OCR (Optical Character Recognition) converts scanned documents or images into searchable, editable text. Our OCR engine supports 100+ languages and works best with clear, high-resolution scans. This is a Pro-only feature.

Yes! Pro users can batch-process multiple files simultaneously. Upload all your files, and they will be processed in parallel for maximum speed.

FreePDF offers a free tier (3 conversions/day, 100 MB limit) and Pro plans: 24-hour pass, weekly, monthly, and yearly subscriptions. Pro unlocks unlimited conversions, 1 GB file size, OCR, batch processing, no ads, and priority processing.

We accept credit/debit cards, PayPal, and local payment methods through our payment provider Paddle. All transactions are securely processed and encrypted.

You can cancel anytime from your account settings or through the subscription management portal. Your Pro features remain active until the end of your current billing period. No cancellation fees apply.

First, check that your file is not corrupted and is within the size limit. Try uploading again — temporary server issues can sometimes cause failures. If the problem persists, try a different browser or clear your browser cache. You can also contact us at [email protected].

Conversion quality depends on the source file. For PDF to Word, complex layouts with many columns or images may not convert perfectly. For compression, try a different quality preset. For best results, use high-resolution source files.

Download links are valid for 30 minutes (free) or 24 hours (Pro). If your link has expired, simply re-process the file. Also check that your browser is not blocking pop-ups or downloads. Try right-clicking the download button and selecting 'Save link as'.

Processing time depends on file size and complexity. Large files or OCR tasks may take 1–3 minutes. If processing exceeds 5 minutes, try refreshing the page and uploading again. Pro users get priority processing for faster results.
